Our Appeal

Appeal for Financial Support — Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for 50 Underprivileged Youth, Chakdaha, West Bengal

On behalf of Medtech Foundation, we write to you with deep sincerity and hope, seeking your generous support for our Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) — a 90-day initiative designed to transform the lives of 50 unemployed and underemployed youth in Chakdaha, Nadia District, West Bengal.

Chakdaha, like many semi-urban communities across India, is home to a generation of young people brimming with potential — yet trapped in a cycle of unemployment and economic uncertainty. Despite expanding markets and improving infrastructure in the region, aspiring young entrepreneurs consistently face three critical barriers:

  • A severe lack of structured entrepreneurship training and business skills.
  • Inadequate guidance on regulatory compliance, licensing, and enterprise establishment.
  • Limited access to financial institutions, seed capital, and government-backed funding schemes.

The result is untapped human capital, deepening poverty, and lost economic opportunity — not only for the individuals concerned, but for the wider Chakdaha community.

Our Response: The Entrepreneurship Development Programme

Medtech Foundation’s EDP is a comprehensive, multi-phase intervention built on five pillars: Training & Capacity Building, Regulatory & Legal Guidance, Financial Access, Incubation & Mentoring, and Market Development. Over 90 intensive days, participants receive:

  • Structured modules on business planning, financial literacy, digital marketing, and enterprise operations.
  • Step-by-step guidance on business registration, licensing, and statutory compliance.
  • Direct linkages with banks, microfinance institutions (MFIs), and government seed-funding schemes.
  • One-on-one mentorship and incubation support during the critical early phase of enterprise launch.
  • Market development assistance, including access to local and digital marketplaces.

Who We Serve

The programme targets 50 youth between the ages of 18 and 35, prioritising those most in need:

  • Unemployed young people seeking livelihood opportunities.
  • School and college dropouts with drive but limited formal qualifications.
  • Women aspiring to enter the workforce and achieve economic independence.
  • Youth from economically weaker sections and low-income households.
  • First-generation entrepreneurs with no prior family business background.

The Impact Your Support Will Create

Your contribution will directly enable us to:

  • Train 50 youth across 6+ structured modules with 100% mentorship coverage.
  • Establish viable micro and small enterprises, generating sustainable self-employment.
  • Reduce youth unemployment and improve household incomes in the Chakdaha region.
  • Build a foundation for long-term entrepreneurship-driven economic growth.

All funds mobilised will be channelled transparently across seven strategic areas: entrepreneurship training, capacity building and mentoring, incubation and business support, financial linkages, market linkages, programme management, and enterprise creation. Detailed budgets and audited reports will be made available to all funders.
