Mitti Café is an award-winning non-profit organization that fosters economic independence and dignity for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as individuals from other vulnerable communities. With a strong focus on inclusion and rights-based advocacy, Mitti Café has grown into the world’s largest chain of cafés entirely managed by persons with disabilities.
Operating from prestigious locations across India—including the Rashtrapati Bhawan, inaugurated by the Honourable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu; the Supreme Court of India, inaugurated by former Chief Justice Justice D.Y. Chandrachud; and Lucknow Airport, inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh—Mitti Café serves as a powerful symbol of ability, resilience, and empowerment. Its efforts have been applauded by leaders such as Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Infosys Founder Narayana Murthy.
With over 11 million meals and beverages served, Mitti Café integrates awareness and impact with every plate. Its outreach efforts have further raised consciousness around disability rights and inclusion at a national and global level. In 2024, Mitti Café was awarded the National Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities by the President of India. The organization has also been featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 and recognized by the United Nations, NITI Aayog, Commonwealth, UNESCO, Times of India, FICCI, Rotary, and TiEcon for its transformative work.
To date, Mitti Café has created over 6,500 sustainable livelihoods and distributed 6 million “Karuna Meals” to vulnerable communities. More than just a café, Mitti is a growing movement that’s building a more inclusive world—one meal, one livelihood, and one story of change at a time.
Mitti Café is an award-winning non-profit enabling dignified livelihoods for adults with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities through our inclusive café model. With 60+ cafés across India—including at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Supreme Court of India, international airports, and major corporate campuses—our teams of persons with disabilities demonstrate leadership, skill, and excellence every day. Over the years, more than 5,500 adults with disabilities have been trained and employed through our model, serving over 11 million meals with dignity and pride.
Through the Tata Steel World 25K platform, we seek to raise critical funds to support our next phase of impact: expanding inclusive livelihood centres, strengthening year-round training programs, and enabling economic independence for thousands more adults with disabilities and acid-attack survivors from low-income communities.
Your support will help us provide skill development, accessible infrastructure, assistive devices, training stipends, and sustainable employment pathways. Beyond livelihoods, this initiative sparks a movement of inclusion—shifting mindsets and proving that persons with disabilities are not beneficiaries, but powerful contributors to society.
By fundraising with us, you help build a world where ability is celebrated, opportunity is equitable, and dignity is a right—not a privilege.
Help us raise funds for our specific needs.
