Barasat Unnayan Prosuti(BUP) established in 1993, is a non-profit organization dedicated to holistic community development. With over 27 years of experience, BUP has expanded its programs to address critical issues such as human trafficking, health, education, environment and livelihood promotion. Certified by the Ministry of Home affairs under FCRA and registered with NGO Darpan under NITI Aayog, BUP operates under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act. We emphasize community-based interventions and work closely with communities and government departments to empower the population to access their rights and entitlements.
Save lives of 100 survivors of trafficking and promote SHG led Entrepreneurship!
We are a grassroots NGO committed to empowering survivors of trafficking in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Over the years, we have worked to restore dignity, hope, and opportunities to those who have been affected by exploitation. At present, BUP is supporting 10 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across 9 Blocks of North 24 Parganas, with each SHG consisting of 10 women members — all of them survivors of trafficking. These SHGs are actively engaging in group businesses, while some members have also started small-scale individual enterprises. To strengthen their entrepreneurial journey and help them achieve sustainable livelihoods, we humbly appeal for your financial support of Rs 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakh only). This fund will be directly distributed among the 100 SHG members, with each member receiving Rs 5000 as additional capital support.
