Our Vision is to generate awareness on health, education and basic rights amongst rural & urban people and also to recognize and improve their potentialities through formation of skill, knowledge sharing and transfer of know how, guide them to generate economic benefit to promote sustainable development with food security in rural & urban economy.
At Human Development Centre, we envision to achieve a value oriented sustainable society based on socio economical growth, capacity building and empowerment of local people especially women, for better social transformation.

Our Appeal

WASH in School Project 2026-27 including Maintenance mechanism of WASH facilities in selected schools

Objectives of the Project

  • Hardware Part
    • To improve the construction part for the stakeholders such as students, teachers and others through newly construction hand wash & drinking water platforms as child friendly concept for easy access.
    • To ensure the delivery of the safe drinking water through installation of purifier by the selected vendors to maintain the quality especially E. coli and virus
    • To integrate hygiene education within the school curriculum by inserting hygiene related question at the time of examination.
    • To involve the Govt. Stakeholders for enhancing sustainability of the maintenance of safe drinking and hand washing platform facilities within

Software Part

  • To promote health and hygiene activities within the school by involving teachers, Child Cabinet and Mother Teacher Association, School Managing Committee / School Development Committee /Ward Education Committee through some curriculums for the good health of school.
  • To involve the students as the change agent to promote best practices of health and hygiene within their family and community.
  • Integrating hygiene education within the school curriculum by inserting hygiene related question at the time of examination
  • To involve the Govt Stakeholders for enhancing sustainability of the maintenance of WASH facilities within school.

Activities

  • School selected through baseline
  • Health and hygiene awareness Training among students, teachers, Mother Teacher Association (MTA) and Child Cabinet in regular interval.
  • IEC (Information, Education and communication) materials display within the school regarding roles and responsibility of child cabinet ministers.
  • A child cabinet meeting calendar developed for regular
  • Functionality of WASH facilities regularly followed up through monitoring by organisation staff.
  • International Day like World Water Day, World Health Day, World Environment Day, World Toilet Day and Global Hand washing Day observed through awareness programme, rally and street drama.
  • Case Studies will be developing and sharing with other school and community people to aware them about the best practices of health and hygiene to create a hazard free school environment.
  • Shared information regarding the necessity of water test with school
  • To create awareness regarding hand washing with soap before having meal and after using toilet.

Scope of Work:

  • Different role plays by different stakeholders to develop a mechanism for proper hygiene-based work culture within schools.
  • The school children will work as a change agent to promote health hazard free environment within school and their families.
  • Family members viz. Mother Teachers Association (MTA)/ Managing Committee (MC) / School Development Committee (SDC) are also involved in this process regarding sanitation practices specially learn from schools through child cabinet and teachers.
