V-SUN WELFARE FOUNDATION is a not-for-profit Section 8 company established on 13th September 2022 under the Companies Act, 2013. With a Corporate Identification Number (CIN) of U85300WB2022NPL257115, the Foundation has been actively working across various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), primarily focusing on Quality Education (SDG 4), Women Empowerment, Skill Development, and Community Health.
Guided by the vision of a more equitable and educated rural society, V-SUN WELFARE FOUNDATION develops and implements scalable models in education, skill training, and rural entrepreneurship. It has developed a strong grassroots presence through community-based initiatives and strategic partnerships with educational institutions, local self-governments, and volunteers.
To empower underprivileged communities by delivering impactful programs in health, education, skill development, and entrepreneurship—ensuring sustainable, inclusive growth and long-term social transformation.
To build a just and equitable society where every individual has access to quality healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities—leading to self-reliant and thriving communities across India.
V-SUN Welfare Foundation, a Section 8 not-for-profit organization, is committed to sustainable, community-driven development aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 3 – Good Health & Well-being. This proposal presents two interlinked initiatives in Hooghly district:
Rural Academic Enrichment Program – improving the quality of education for Classes VI–X in rural areas.
Community Health Expansion at Charak Bari, Chandannagar – upgrading an existing low-cost clinic into a comprehensive health center.
Both aim to provide affordable, accessible, and sustainable solutions in underserved communities through local participation and innovative practices.
Rural Academic Enrichment Program
Rural schools in West Bengal face challenges such as high student–teacher ratios, shortage of qualified subject teachers, outdated teaching methods, and lack of modern learning tools. Science and Mathematics are often taught in a lecture-heavy manner, while English learning focuses on rote grammar rather than communication. This limits conceptual understanding, practical exposure, and competitive exam readiness.
The program will enhance learning in Mathematics, Physical Science, Life Science, and English, with the addition of Vedic Maths to boost calculation speed and logical skills. Interactive tools, role-play, and project-based learning will make classes engaging, while early preparation for JEE, NEET, Olympiads, and NTSE will be introduced. Spoken English training will further improve career readiness. With a 20:1 student–teacher ratio, students will receive personalized attention.
The model will sustain itself through nominal fees from those who can afford, while keeping it accessible for economically weaker families. Local recruitment will encourage community ownership, and CSR partnerships will support operational costs.
Community Health Expansion at Charak Bari
Currently, the Charak Bari health check-up center provides consultations at ₹50, serving both urban poor and rural populations. However, it lacks maternity care, emergency response, minor surgical facilities, and diagnostic services, forcing patients to travel far for even basic treatments.
The proposed expansion will transform it into a multi-service community health center offering maternity and child care, a minor operation theater, expanded OPD (General Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology, ENT), an emergency first response unit, and health awareness programs. Infrastructure upgrades, medical equipment procurement, and recruitment of trained staff will be key steps. Outreach camps will identify high-risk cases early.
A cross-subsidy model will ensure affordability: subsidized care for BPL families, nominal fees for others, and operational support from CSR partners, NGOs, and volunteer doctors.
