Santoshpur Lake Pally is a well-known Durga Puja club in South Kolkata, in the Santoshpur–Lake Terrace area. It is known for its artistic pandals and annual Durga Puja celebrations.
SkillXplore is an initiative focused on empowering underprivileged youth, with at least 50% women participation, through skill development, employability training and entrepreneurship opportunities. The programme aims to help young people build the confidence, knowledge and practical skills needed to secure employment or start sustainable micro and small enterprises.
The programme will support 100 youth from Kolkata and adjoining areas through technical and emerging-skill training, digital proficiency, soft skills, hands-on learning, on-job training, placement assistance and entrepreneurship orientation. Participants will also receive industry mentorship, start-up guidance and technical assistance to translate their skills into sustainable livelihood opportunities.
With a focus on marginalized and economically weaker communities, SkillXplore promotes women’s participation, self-reliance and inclusive economic growth. The initiative aligns with national priorities around skill development, employability, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
The cost per student is ₹15,000, covering infrastructure, skill training, entrepreneurial orientation, mentoring and placement support. The total fundraising goal is ₹15,00,000 to enable 100 young people to access these opportunities.
