FTS was established with the belief that India's overall development cannot be complete until tribal society participates equally in the nation's development journey through education, values, health, self-reliance and social dignity — the fivefold development approach.
Based on this idea, the organisation built a service campaign with society's support that has now reached thousands of villages in many states. This journey is not the result of a government scheme; it is the outcome of voluntary participation by society, dedicated workers and the trust of millions of supporting families.
Its principal areas of work include education and values through Ekal Vidyalayas, social awakening, women's and youth participation, village development, leadership building and connecting society with service. As needs have changed, new initiatives such as skill development and Sanskar Gurukul have also been launched in cities.
Today FTS is not merely an organisation running service projects; it has become a strong social movement connecting society with service, values and national consciousness.
