For over 17 years, we have been making quality primary healthcare accessible and affordable for underserved communities across West Bengal. Through our network of 21 rural healthcare centres across 8 districts and 3 urban healthcare centres in Kolkata, we provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to communities where access to timely and affordable medical care remains limited. Over the years, we have treated more than 5.1 million patients and today we are serving patients from over 7,000 villages.
At our centres, patients have access to consultations in general medicine, eye care and dental care, along with high-quality essential medicines and other services that support their healthcare needs. This integrated approach enables us to support patients across the continuum of care, from early screening and diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.
Our approach goes beyond treating patients who walk through our doors. Through door-to-door health screenings and community health camps, our outreach teams take preventive healthcare into surrounding communities, enabling early identification of health concerns and connecting individuals with appropriate medical care. Since June 2022, we have screened over 10 lakh individuals through these outreach efforts.
We have a Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). We are registered with the NSE Social Stock Exchange. We have also been assigned CARE Ratings of NGO 2A. Our model has been studied by Harvard Business School, Yale University and National University of Singapore. We have also received 30+ national awards and recognitions and have been featured by leading media outlets.
For a patient in a rural community, receiving a diagnosis is only the beginning. Because to truly recover or manage their disease, they need quality medicines.
Medicines are therefore an essential part of the care we provide at our rural healthcare centres. We maintain stocks of 150+ high-quality essential medicines, most of which are WHO-GMP certified products.
To truly improve the health of our communities, we provide a week’s supply of medicines to each patient for free!
Patients come to us with many different health needs. Around 70% of the patients we see require care for chronic conditions that need long-term treatment. Others come to us for common acute and short-term illnesses. Many patients, particularly those living with multiple health conditions, require treatment for more than one ailment.
For all of them, access to affordable, quality medicines can make the difference between receiving a prescription and actually completing treatment.
Today, our rural centres provide care to more than 60,000 patients every month. With ₹25 lakh, we can provide essential medicine support to 25,000 patients, based on an average support of ₹100 per patient.
