I am Arif Ahmed ,an automotive expert specializing in the auto ancillaries sector in the Indian market, with more than three decades of experience in this dynamic industry. Over the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of working with a leading OEM, where my role has centered on strengthening the automotive landscape in Eastern India. From building dealer networks and driving channel growth to managing D.O.P. sales, I have worked to ensure that both urban centers and rural markets are well connected through strong distribution systems. Along the way, I have also had the opportunity to work with state transport departments, particularly on the AIS-140 project, helping them adopt modern standards and improve transport safety and compliance.
Beyond the corporate world, I serve as the President of Kolkata Hunar, a not-for-profit initiative dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities, particularly women and children. Through Kolkata Hunar, we focus on education, livelihood opportunities, vocational training, and community development—bridging the gap between skills and sustainable employment. This role allows me to translate my professional experience into meaningful social impact by nurturing talent, supporting local entrepreneurship, and helping individuals build dignified livelihoods.
What motivates me most, whether in the automotive industry or through Kolkata Hunar, is people. Over the years, I have seen how education and skill development can transform lives—unlocking potential, creating livelihoods, and inspiring hope. That’s why I have made it a personal mission to go beyond business by sharing knowledge, supporting vocational training, and guiding young professionals who aspire to make their mark in this industry.

Behind every child is a mother striving for a better future. Women like Shabnam lived through silent struggles and had no real opportunities to support themselves. Kolkata Hunar’s Beautician & Makeup Course, conducted in collaboration with La Rose Academy, helped her regain confidence and build a sustainable career. Her journey reflects the potential of countless other women waiting for a chance.
