Since 2012, LittleBigHelp India Trust has been transforming the lives of the most vulnerable children, women, and marginalized communities in West Bengal. Our core intervention is: to protect children’s fundamental rights—like education and protection—and to empower men and women with the skills and confidence to build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
Every year, through 23 life-changing projects, we directly support more than 3,000 children and adults, and reach over 13,500 individuals indirectly. From providing safe homes for vulnerable boys and girls, to running 13 community centers in urban slums, to offering vocational training in trades that open doors to employment—we work where the need is greatest.
Our focus areas—child education, child protection, mental health, and skills development—are at the heart of everything we do. Each project is carefully designed to respond to the unique needs of the community, ensuring transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
From Street to School: Fund the Mentors Guiding our Children
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a future filled with hope. Yet, for the 45 children (20 girls and 25 boys) living in LittleBigHelp’s hostels, this opportunity was once unimaginable. Rescued from the streets and unsafe environments marked by neglect, abuse, instability, and the absence of education, these children have overcome immense challenges. Today, they have found safety and care—but they still need the support that will help them thrive.
At LittleBigHelp, we believe that true education extends beyond textbooks. Along with a secure home, children need quality academic guidance, emotional support, creative expression, and opportunities to develop confidence and life skills. These experiences enable them to heal, discover their talents, and become independent, responsible individuals.
We seek your generous support to provide comprehensive educational assistance for all 45 children throughout the year. Your contribution will help cover the costs of qualified teachers for subject tuition, ensuring every child receives the academic support needed to succeed in school. It will also enable regular yoga sessions to strengthen physical and mental well-being, drawing classes to nurture creativity and self-expression, and dance training for the girls’ hostel to build confidence, teamwork, and cultural appreciation.
Your annual contribution of ₹6,12,000 will ensure uninterrupted access to these essential learning opportunities, creating a nurturing environment where every child can learn, heal, and grow. More than funding classes, your support will restore confidence, inspire dreams, and help transform vulnerable children into educated and empowered adults.
Project Location: 10 slums covered in Kolkata and Howrah districts. Marginalized youth from the rural areas of West Bengal are also given opportunities.
