About Us

Rangeen Khidki Foundation is a youth led feminist organization based in Kolkata working in the space of sexual and reproductive health and rights with adolescents and youth along with stakeholders like parents, teachers and other adults in their ecosystem. Our work is rooted in gender equity using innovative approaches and models to address inequality and improve the quality of lives of all adolescents and youth.

Rangeen Khidki Foundation envisions a world where all adolescents and young people across all gender and intersectionalities can access education, information, services and support related to their physical and mental wellbeing and can grow to their fullest potential as leaders.

Rangeen Khidki Foundation works towards gender justice and empowerment with a rights based approach to enhance leadership, build networks in advocacy, towards entitlements, and dissemination of knowledge in community.

Our Appeal

Project Tamanna

A school-based program working to empower students from Classes 8 to 12 in marginalized communities in primarily semi-urban areas around Kolkata. Through interactive workshops, we address critical issues like menstrual health, prevention of early marriage, child sexual abuse, safety, consent, and understanding rights. The project also identifies and trains peer leaders in each school who share their learning, support their peers, initiate dialogues with parents, teachers and other relevant stakeholders by creating resources and leading creative events. Our aim is to form a self-sustaining ecosystem where young people are equipped with necessary knowledge and tools to become responsible in driving change in their own schools and communities.

Project Objective

  • The first component of Project Tamanna is a school level awareness program designed to engage adolescents attending government schools.

  • The second component is the peer leader component which plays a pivotal role in extending the program’s impact beyond the classroom. Peer leaders are equipped not only to educate their peers but also to serve as advocates for important issues affecting adolescents in their schools and communities.

  •  Project Tamanna ensures that accurate knowledge resonates far beyond the initial sessions, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and advocacy throughout the community.
