About Us

MISSION SMILE is an FCRA approved and Govt. registered Medical Charitable Trust dedicated to providing free life changing cleft care and surgeries for children born with Cleft lip, Cleft palate and other facial deformities. Since its inception in 2003, Mission Smile have screened 74,000 plus cleft affected children and have performed more than 50,000+ safe corrective surgeries in India.

International Linkages: Mission Smile is accredited by some of the International Charities like Global Giving, Give India, USA, CAF, and we have International Tie-ups with leading Cleft foundations like Smile Asia and Future Smile Charitable Foundation. The missions under Mission Smile have been attended by 1800 plus volunteers from 36 plus countries.

Our comprehensive approach goes beyond surgery. Mission Smile has devoted itself to helping cleft afflicted children & young adults since 2003.

1. Reaching to remote areas – Through our 3 delivery models. Mission Smile is the only charitable trust running 3 delivery models.
2. Spreading smiles to everyone – With strict medical protocols and compassionate care we are leaders in comprehensive cleft care in This is directly related to Quality of care we deliver to all communities. We provide nutrition care, dentistry, speech therapy and other required help.
3. A team of medical specialists and credentialed experts.
4. A fully staffed world class cleft care center in Guwahati which operates daily around the year.
5. 100 percent cost-free care to the patient.
6. Post-operative follow-up, full recovery to 6 months.
7. We run nutrition program for kids who are malnourished and unfit for With proper monitoring and counselling these children are brought up to the standards required for the surgeries and then corrective surgeries are performed.
8. Training and Capacity Building – We run a fellowship program to train surgeons, BLS (Basic life support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac life support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced life support) and have run programs with NHM to build capacity at grassroots level (ASHA and AWWS).
9. Continual Research – Projects with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), papers published American Medical Journals and past collaborations with Harvard, University of California and Sick Kids Hospital and Research Center, Canada.

Mission Smile provides its services through the following modes of delivery:

• Medical Missions – A location is chosen and volunteers from India and abroad spends 7 days making it possible to conduct medical evaluation and surgeries, followed by post-operative check-up. Till date Mission Smile has conducted 163 medical missions and treated 8600+ patients in India

• Outreach Centres – Mission Smile has 22 Centres spread over Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kolkata Techno Dama, Kolkata BNR, Kolkata Metro railway, Krishnanagar, Puducherry, Melmaruvathur, Krishnagiri, Vijayawada, Vizianagaram, Vizag, Kakinada, Sangli, Ranchi, Patna, Hyderabad, Bidar and Rajkot, Kachchh, Vadodara in partnership with local Mission Smile Credentialed surgeons and experts, with approved equipment and infrastructure have performed close to 15,300+ surgeries through the ORCs.

• Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre (GC4) – Mission Smile has created a Unique Public Private Partnership in collaboration with the State Government(s), National Health Mission and corporate partners towards creating a ‘Cleft Free’ India. A dedicated comprehensive cleft care Centre provides all necessary and associated care, 24×7, under one roof encompassing surgery, nutrition, child life counselling, speech, dentistry and ENT. GC4 has performed 25700+ surgeries so far
