Our Vision:

To create ‘a friendly and responsive community where children and adolescents achieve their full potential’.

Our Appeal

“Inclusion is a right, not a privilege for a selected few”

Census 2011 suggests that, in India, 63 million people (6.3%) suffer from significant auditory loss and four in every 1000 children suffer from severe to profound hearing loss. The state of West Bengal has registered a total number of 315192 people with hearing impairment. Many of the people with irreversible hearing impairment are diagnosed late, leaving their needs unmet during critical early years. These children often experience isolation, rejection in schools, and lack of understanding from society due to the communication barrier they face from the very early stage of their life. In Kolkata’s slum areas, poverty worsens their challenges, pushing them further into neglect and hopelessness. Without proper support, these children risk being denied their right to learn, grow, and dream—making timely intervention a necessity for their future.

CINI envisions a world where deaf children are no longer left behind. Through barrier-free communication and language development support, we aim to unlock their potential. By training teachers in inclusive methods and equipping parents to support learning at home, we strive to create nurturing environments where deaf children can thrive emotionally and academically. CINI focuses on improving the barrier- free communication for deaf children in Kolkata by implementing program across accredited inclusive schools. With your support, we will equip children with profound hearing, loss, their families, parents and teachers in total communication methodology, like Indian Sign Language, gestures, lip reading. Additional community support will be offered for out-of-school children ensuring these children receive the education and opportunities they deserve. CINI has also developed expertise in developing wide range of deaf friendly communication and education contents.

Our mission is to ensure every child feels valued, included, and capable of excelling in general schools, bridging gaps in understanding and opportunity with compassion and purpose. Together, we can build a future of inclusion and hope.

Help CINI Support deaf children in Kolkata in accessing barrier free communication and equal learning prospect, creating a future of equal opportunities and brighter possibilities.

Note:  CINI maintains a Child Safeguarding Policy and consent from parents of the children have been taken to take and use  the photographs of the children in the gallery
