About Us

The Shalini Fellowship program of Udayan Care (a non-profit organization), is a unique program dedicated to academic excellence and personality development for deserving and talented girls from weak socio-economic background. The program aims to empower these girls with their right to education so that they are able to pursue their dreams and live a dignified life. Each fellow stays in the programme till she finishes her course, which is an average period 5-6 years.
The Shalini Fellowship Program of Udayan Care Kolkata Chapter that started in 2007 has been running successfully over 17 years, the year on year growth in the induction numbers has been a healthy indicator on the need and aspiration for a women empowered society. Shalini Fellowship Program is a torch bearer of a progressive society that encourages talent recognition amidst and inclusive environment. The organization has ambitions plans to reach out to more girl students and strengthen the curriculum that would facilitate research and learning.
