Himalay Unnati Mission an Himalayan initiative of Art Of Living Foundation ( with a legacy of over 30 years ) working purely with the aim to ‘Save Himalayas’. Himalay Unnati Mission operates in the Himalayan Union Territories and States of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand,Himachal Pradesh,Sikkim,Darjeeling, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur,Tripura as well as adjoining Himalayan neighbor Countries of Nepal and Bhutan.
HUM has created a platform and brought togather over 110 NGO’s and subject matter experts on Himalayas to work towards policy initiatives and engage with the state as well as the central government
Focus area of work
HUM works very closely with Government of India and Indian Army Border village Development Programme (BVDP) . This involves, solar electrification of villages, solar street lights, Solar Digitisation of Schools, solar primary health centres,Disaster relief work,skill development,natural farming,entrepreneur development and livelihood ,Greening Himalayas.

HUM works very closely with Indian Army in Border Village Development Programme (BVDP) , an ongoing initiative of Government of India and Indian Army across all border states of India.HUM is working towards 80 border villages to be solar electrified by end of 2025.Our effort is to bring a change and bringing smiles into the lives of Indian brothers and sisters in the border regions.

The overall project cost to electrify 80 Border villages is estimated to be Rupees 2 crores and 20 lakhs.
