About Us

Dakhshini Prayash was founded in 1993, by Nalini Mukherjee who started providing coaching support to the underprivileged children in the locality. It started under a tree and gradually moved to the local club and eventually the first building was made in 2003.
Along with education of the children, steps were also taken to provide healthcare to the village children. Additionally we started providing skill-training to the adult women in the community, so that they can become financially independent.
At present under the umbrella of Madurdaha Satyavritti Vidyalaya (MSV), Dakshini Prayash is imparting holistic education to 400 students. The skill-training unit is also supporting more than 25 women in the community to help them become financially independent.

Our Appeal

At MSV, we strive to provide holistic education that covers the various developmental needs of the children that includes physical, mental and social well being. At Madurdaha Satyavritti Vidyalaya, holistic education is imparted to enable the students to rise above the challenges they face today and those which are to come in their lives ahead. Education is not limited to learning that happens in the classroom; it expands to self-realisation, resilience development, positive social behaviour, and awareness of one’s civic responsibilities.
Madurdaha Sattayvritti Vidyalaya (MSV) currently has classes till Class VIII, after which the students take transfer to government schools of their choice to appear for their board examination. In 2017, the first batch of students appeared for the higher secondary examination and performed exceedingly well. Four students secured more than 80%.
Madurdaha Sattayvritti Vidyalaya (MSV), is under the process to get the affiliation till class X, so that we can ensure quality education for the local children till the secondary level. We plan to start class IX from 2025 academic year and class X in the coming year.
We are appealing to the donors to contribute to the educational needs of 25 students in our school, the total cost for which will come to INR 500,000. This will help us in providing quality education to one class in our school.
